We are very lucky to have such fabulous staff fully committed to safeguarding children. Each undergo a range of suitability checks including Criminal Record Disclosures and Health Checks. They regularly update their knowledge and training by attending on-going workshops and courses to keep up with current best practice. Furthermore they are active members of the community with many of their children at Seal St Lawrence Church of England Primary School or Ightham Primary having attended the setting themselves.
"My three children attended St Lawrence Pre-School, during which time I was an active Committee Member. I joined as an Early Years Practitioner in April 2010 and gained my NVQ Level 3 qualification in May 2015. I enjoy cooking with pre-school age children and am currently training to become the settings Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator - A role which I look forward to developing."
"I am a mother myself, with two children - both of whom have previously attended St Lawrence. I have been involved for number of years, firstly as a parent and then I joined the Committee. Since my children left the pre-school to move on to school, I have joined up to work as an Assistant to help care, educate and stimulate the children at pre-school. I am a keen gardener and I look to develop the planting and growing at St Lawrence."
"My first involvement with the pre school was when my youngest son attended and I joined the committee. As the fundraiser I enjoyed organising events like the Easter Bunny Hop and Christmas Fair. My son loved his time at the pre school and I didn't want to give it up either, so I joined the team of staff in April 2015. I particularly like helping the new arrivals settle in and then seeing how quickly they become independent individuals no longer looking for my hand to hold."
- "I am a qualified Teacher and I became involved with St Lawrence approximately four years ago and I work on an adhoc basis, alongside my other working positions. I really enjoy playing alongside the children, to develop and extend their learning. I love a whole range of types of play and find my work with the children and families very rewarding. Even though I am not a continual member of staff at St Lawrence, I always find the staff and families very welcoming."
